Affiliate Membership
The Affiliate Membership is Maine Businesses for Sustainability’s basic membership level, for those interested in an affiliation with Maine Businesses for Sustainability. We believe much can be gained from businesses coming together to discuss best practices, network and problem solve, that’s why we’ve started to grow local Maine Businesses for Sustainability networking groups around the state. You don’t need to join one of our networking groups to be an Affiliate Member, but networking through Maine Businesses for Sustainability is a great way to expand your connections locally, and also connect on a statewide basis with other members.
Members of local networking groups benefit from participation in a local networking group focused on green and sustainable practices and dedicated to helping you grow your business. Each group determines how to best accomplish this goal within their region and each will have the opportunity to set up a table at Maine Businesses for Sustainability’s annual conference, at no charge, to showcase and promote its activities.
Each local networking group has a Group Leader to run and administer the local group. Maine Businesses for Sustainability provides suggested guidelines and support to help implement and facilitate the group. Each networking group has its own personality and formats vary from group to group. What is consistent is the inherent benefit of networking with other local Maine Businesses for Sustainability members to share ideas, leads, contacts, best practices and information.
Group Leaders receive the benefit of leading a sustainable and green Maine Businesses for Sustainability networking group in their area and the affiliated goodwill, leadership and recognition that comes with it. They will be responsible for organizing the logistics of where, when and how often the local groups meets. Each Group Leader can submit news from its members for mention in Maine Businesses for Sustainability’s newsletter and calendar.
